About me
Born in Panadura in the southwest of Sri Lanka and today as an Ayurvedic physician (Master of Science Ayurvedic Medicine, NHP eidg. Dipl. AYU) I experience my professional work as a connection to my country of origin Sri Lanka, which is one of the countries of origin of Ayurvedic medicine, and my life in Switzerland. My first experiences with Ayurvedic medicine and Deshye Cikitsa (traditional Sri Lankan medicine) were in Sri Lanka when I was young. So I connect Ayurvedamedicine with the tradition, family and culture of Sri Lanka. It is an enrichment for me that I was able to study first in Sri Lanka and later in India as well as in Europe.
I am registered of the EMR (register of Quality of experienced medicine) and VISANA.
In direct contact and regular exchange with renowned Ayurveda medicine professors, teachers and practitioners, I regularly educate myself for the health of my patients.
Ayurveda medicine shows that it can be treated independently, complementarily, together, individually or in parallel and leads to the alleviation of symptoms, especially in chronic diseases.
I treat you individually but according to classical Ayurvedamedicine. During the consultation I explain you the basic Ayurvedic principles as well as health prevention (sadvrtta, rasayana, dinacharya, rtucharya, ahara, vihara/ shamana), but I also treat the diseases (shamana and shodana) according to the classical system of Ayurvedic medicine.
Ayurvedic medicine, however, treats the person and not just the disease alone. This is a principle that I value and to which I would like to remain true.
Looking at the individual concerns of a person is important to me. This also includes finding out your strengths and habits and leading you back to what you have already recognised as well as your resources.
The human being is not only an anatomical or physiological being. The emotional, mental (psychological) and spiritual state is also included in Ayurvedic medicine. Every living being is a unique, independent regulatory system, which I respect.
Every person has his own constitution and its deviations (Prakruti and Vikruti) and lives in different circumstances or environments (desha).
So I actively involve you in the treatment process.
On request, I give Ayurvedic medicine lectures in pharmacies, clinics and health centres and do Ayurvedicmedicine consults, so-called consults, in clinics and hospitals.
My 24 years of experience in treatment, care, medicine and therapy with and for a wide variety of people in various hospitals, institutions as well as in different cultures have enriched me.
Today I run my own Ayurvedamedical doctors place in Switzerland and the non-profit Ayurvedamedical Help & Health clinic, which stands for humanitarian employment conditions for protected education- and workingplace for disadvantaged people in Sri Lanka.
As a practising Buddhist (Theravada-SL), meditation and personal rituals of daily mindfulness-practice are necessary for me to meet the patient who comes to the consultation.
